In-Person Worship Reminders
Here are some highlights of what precautions to expect when we return in person March 28:
– Everyone must enter through the sanctuary narthex doors only.
– Face coverings over the mouth and nose must be worn.
– No bulletins, attendance cards, or other material will be distributed.
– Ushers will seat individuals/families to ensure that physical distancing is maintained.
– Individuals are encouraged to submit their prayers requestsby email prior to the service.
– Music will be instrumental or provided by a soloist – we will not yet be able to sing hymns together.
– Offering will be received in baskets placed at the rear of the sanctuary.
– The nurseryis not ready to re-open; however, children are always welcome to join with their families in the sanctuary!
– No food or beverages to be served (with the exception of prepackaged communion).
– Fellowship hour will continue to meet online; not yet in person.
– All vulnerable individuals should continue to worship from home, and Trinity will make every effort to serve homebound individuals. Don’t worry – we will continue to offer all worship services online, as well as in person.
This may seem like a lot of things to keep in mind, but isn’t it worth it to enjoy one another’s company in person once again? If you have any questions at all, please call or email the church office.
The schedule for Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter are above. We can’t wait to see another again, whether it be continued online or in person in the sanctuary!

Lent at Home Continues!
We hope you are reading your weekly individual reflection pages and daily readings in The Sanctuary for Lent. The weekly readings are very helpful for focusing our thoughts and intentions in concert with our Holy Vessels Lent series. The daily readings are progressing through various themes throughout Lent; this week, we are looking at “renewal.”
We have been working hands-on with the sea glass pieces in the station during our on-line worship services. In recent weeks, we have admired how they change color in water and have arranged them in different patterns, even crafted them into art, jewelry, or décor. We hope these activities have engaged your various senses throughout our Lenten worship services.
The Holy Vessels series culminates in Holy Week, including services for Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday. We hope you will join us in-person or online for these meaningful occasions.
Team Trinity – Relay for Life Event for 2021
This year’s event is going to be scaled back, as we still cannot have a full Relay at this time. We will be doing the luminaries, and they will be set up at the AWC Schoening Center Parking Lot on April 17, time to be announced later. You will be able to do a drive-by. The team is still going to be selling luminaries and decorating the bags to set them up out at AWC. The bags will still be $5 each and for cancer only. The bags you can buy are Survivor, Honor, Caregiver, Memory. You can send your names to Marilyn and the money to the office or go on-line to pay. We will keep you updated to all the Team Trinity Activities. Thanks to everyone for your support.
Lay Servant Ministries
With COVID-19 only becoming worse, we believe that the future of in-person classes will not be possible for quite some time. We want all of you to be safe and will endeavor, through ZOOM classes to provide the same high quality Lay Servant Ministry Classes we have always provided in the West District.
This Advanced ZOOM class is taught by Certified Lay Speaker Curtis Gipson, from Dove of the Desert UMC in Glendale. Two ZOOM Classes will be offered at the beginning of April, one during the day and one evening/Saturday morning class. We are trying to reach more people offering both day and evening classes.
The class is $15. If you have to cancel or postpone you will get a credit for a future class. There will only be twelve (12) students per ZOOM class so please register as soon as possible. You need to download/purchase and read completely the text before class begins, Opening Ourselves to Grace: The Means of Grace and Discipleship by Steven W. Manskar.
The Daytime Session is:
Wednesday to Friday – April 7, 8, and 9, 8:30 a.m. to Noon.
The Evening / Saturday Session is: Evenings 5:30 – 9 p.m.

Pastor’s Continuing Education
As a licensed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church, Pastor Bob is required to attend continuing education classes on a regular basis. Prior to the coronavirus pandemic these classes were held on site at the Claremont School of Theology for three weeks each summer. With the current travel restrictions, the classes have transitioned to an on-line format.
Pastor Bob completed a course in Leadership Development over the summer. In the month of March he will be taking a class on Congregational Care and in May a class on United Methodist Polity and Administration. These classes are very intense, and require tremendous reading, writing numerous papers and class participation and leadership.
We would ask that you keep Pastor Bob in prayer during this time and also be understanding if he is not immediately available should a need arise.

As the “Where Love Lives” campaign celebrates its sixth month, the Western Jurisdiction continues to call on everyone to recommit to the promise of Fair and Equal Ordination for All. This commitment liberates all our clergy – including our LGBTQ+ clergy – to love and serve God and the community in fully open and honest ways, without fear of discrimination, derision, or punishment. The Desert Southwest Conference and the Western Jurisdiction strive to be a home for all God’s people, where Fair and Equal Ordination for All is just one expression of being a place #wherelovelivesUMC .
