The choir is in need of a couple (4) players. If you have any interest, please see Karen. Reading music does help, but if you are willing to start now to learn, we want you! We start practice in August, so let me know ASAP!
Christmas is coming, yeah, it’s 120 out, but the Christmas Concert has already been planned. We need you!
Things are beginning to feel more and more “normal” at Trinity on Sunday mornings, and now we get to take the next step forward! Please join us following worship (approximately 11 AM) in Morris Hall for a time of greeting one another, chatting, sharing stories, and just catching up. It will be such a joy to resume this meaningful weekly time of in-person fellowship!
If you’re wondering why we’re calling it “LITE”, it is because we aren’t yet to a point where we can safely serve refreshments such as coffee and cookies, so please be aware there will be no food or drink provided just yet. We look forward to the day when that too can resume – but yes, in the meantime, it really CAN be a United Methodist fellowship time even without coffee! We look forward to seeing you there.

Book Discussion Presented by the Conference
Clergy & Lay Leadership Development Team
Membership to Discipleship
August 9, 2021, at 7:00 PM
Do you enjoy having opportunities to grow as a leader and to learn from other leaders? Do you find it enriching to share leadership ideas, concepts, and inspiration with others?
Opportunities are available to anyone in the Desert Southwest Conference interested in learning through a focused discussion of mixed media leadership resources, such as books, videos, podcasts, webinars, etc. Leadership is explored from various perspectives, including resources that look at leadership from more than one cultural lens.
A number of one-hour, virtual evening conversations are offered this year. The first one is on the book “Membership to Discipleship,” by Phil Maynard. This online discussion will be facilitated by Rev. Galene Boyett on August 9, 2021, at 7:00 PM. Click below to register.
You are always invited to access the book, video, webinar, podcast, that interests you, prior to the date when its presentation is scheduled. You will still find benefit by joining the discussion if you are unable to review the media ahead of the presentation. Click on the links below to purchase “From Membership to Discipleship” through Cokesbury or Amazon.
The presenters and facilitators of these discussions may include recognized Desert Southwest Conference leaders, authors, and creators of the media being discussed and, as well as members of the CLLD Team. We hope you decide to try out any of the resources we have prepared for you, and join others interested in the same conversations!

Did you know – we can watch the special session of the Western Jurisdictional Conference online this weekend!
The College of Bishops of the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church in accordance with ¶ 521 of the 2016 Book of Discipline, is calling a special session of the jurisdictional conference on July 17, 2021. The meeting will be held virtually from 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time. The purpose of this special session is to approve bishops’ requests for retirement and to determine the number of bishops to be elected at the next regular Jurisdictional Conference now scheduled for November 2-5, 2022.
This special session of the jurisdictional conference will also receive and review the reports and recommendations of the five workgroups formed by the jurisdictional Mission Cabinet to assist the jurisdictional conference delegates. The five groups providing these reports are related to:
– The jurisdiction’s mission statement;
– The theological and missional context of the work of bishops;
– The assignment of bishops;
– The jurisdiction’s commitment to permeable boundaries across annual conferences and episcopal areas for the sake of mission and ministry; and
– The jurisdiction’s administrative and financial oversight.
We look forward to worship, pertinent business matters and fellowship (albeit virtually).
