I am every excited that we are returning to in-person worship on Sunday. But I wanted to offer the following information in response to the recent announcements that you may have heard in the news.
Our Covenant for group gatherings invites us out of our love for all people, “To do no harm.” In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we adopted this phrase as a reminder of our commitment to provide a safe environment as we faithfully serve one another and our community.
Although the recent Executive Order from Arizona’s Governor means that private organizations are not legally required to follow mask guidelines and/or limits on crowd sizes, Trinity United Methodist Church will still comply with CDC Guidelines on masking, distancing, and gathering sizes. This means that masks and distancing will be required to attend any church gathering. The Executive Order allows private organizations such as Trinity to have and enforce our own policies on masking and distancing.
We remain hopeful that with vaccine distribution and best practices in place, we will be able to return to a semblance of normalcy soon. Let us remember the words of John Wesley, “Most of all, God is with us.”
So, please remember that as we gather on Sunday and in to Holy Week and the services following we will continue to follow our COVID-19 protocols.
Best blessings, Pastor Bob
